Post Treatment Checklist

If you follow these simple steps, you will see excellent results from your fogging treatment.
- You home may smell a little spicy when you walk it, but it is completely safe! The chemical we use is EPA/FDA approved, and it is organic. You know how it stinks like high heaven when you clean with vinegar? This follows the same principle. The smell will dissipate over time. Usually by dinner the smell will be gone.
- If the odor is too strong, we welcome you to open your windows briefly, turn on your AC, and run your exhaust & ceiling fans. Let your home air out! Fresh air momentarily is a good thing. Just make sure that you close your windows as soon as it is aired out, and use a dehumidifier to keep your humidity levels under control.
- Remember the one big rule of thumb. "Cool and Dry." Mold needs heat and humidity to grow. If it is ever greater than 76° and 60% humidity, mold will grow. We usually recommend keeping your thermostat set at, at least 74° and your humidity below 75°.
- Make sure to close your windows at night. Humidity levels actually increase at night here. I know that sounds crazy, but Florida's environment is different than a lot of other places in the United States.
- If you have concerns about possible mold spores lingering in your clothes, make sure to throw a cup of white vinegar (exp. here) in with your wash. As a general rule of thumb, it will help keep your clothing free of mold. Just make sure not to mix it with bleach! It will create chlorine gas, and nobody wants that in their home!
- Honestly, vinegar is one of the best cleaning agents you can have in your home! On top of the tip for laundry 👆🏻, vinegar works great for cleaning floors, windows, bathrooms, descaling, etc. Your house may smell like pickles when you are done, but like our fog, the smell will dissipate as the vinegar dries.
- One bonus of the treatment is that it can eliminate odors. We apologize in advance if we kill any of your air fresheners!
- Keep an eye out on your differed maintenance! Here are some great tips on "How to Prevent Mold Growth in Your Home".
- If you have not had a chance to already, schedule your regular maintenance on you HVAC. Our AC's are one of the most critical systems in our house. We want to make sure they are running efficiently, the internal components are cleaned, your fan speed is correctly set to dehumidify, and that the drain pan and drain line are cleaned.
